b-side encounters are part of the b-side multi media festival - over 150 young people from Weymouth & Portland have taken part since November 2010. All b-side encounters events are FREE, please just turn up, tune in, enjoy and be prepared to explore something new!

Gracing the outside wall of the store, read and delight in the thoughts, ideas and memories created by young parents in Weymouth that explore and challenge stereotypes and give young parents the chance to be heard.

South Heel Soul

As darkness falls enjoy a unique outdoor film experience, more of a walk-in than a drive-in! High energy film created by Southill Youth Club, film maker Tim Fogg and choreographer Rachelle Green.

Impossible Architexture

An evocative soundscape in the old Brackenbury infant school building created by young people from 'Portland Rocks' and artists Ivon Oates and David Rogers.

Paste Up
Large-scale Banksy inspired wall art created by young people from Easton Youth Club and artist Peter Snelling.

Babygrow
Fantastic stitched and embellished babygrows created by teenagers from Weymouth working with artists Peter and Sally Snelling that explore sex, relationships and pregnancy.

Tune In
Tune into Westfield's radio station AIR and hear a totally unique series of broadcasts that explore local people's hopes, dreams and wishes recorded and edited by young people from Westfield school and artists Sue Palmer and Pedro Calero. It will be broadcast at 11am and then available to Listen Again.
